About The Event
The annual ALS golf tournament originated in 1983 by former Royals player and Baseball Hall of Famer George Brett. When the tournament began it was known as The George Brett Celebrity Golf Classic. This premier tournament was renamed in honor of the great Kansas City sports writer Joe McGuff in 2003, and has continued the tradition of an exciting event designed to entertain its guests while raising much-needed funds for research and care services.
